European hockey. Portugal beat France and face England in the quarterfinals on Thursday

The Portuguese roller hockey team beat France 3-1 on Wednesday and secured first place in Group A of the European Championship, managing to face England in the quarterfinals of the competition, in Catalonia.

In the third and last game of the group stage, Portugal scored through Henrique Magalhães (minutes 14 and 37) and João Rodrigues (minutes 39), and, in the middle, Carlo di Benedetto (27) was still tied for the Gauls .

With two victories and a draw, the team secured first place in Group A, with seven points, ahead of Italy (three), Spain (two) and France (one), although today they face Italians and Spaniards, both without possibility of threatening the Portuguese leadership.

In the quarterfinals, which will take place on Thursday, Portugal will face, starting at 8:00 p.m. (Lisbon time), England, who occupied the fourth and last position in Group B, with three defeats in the same number of matches. .
