Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) confirmed this Saturday that he will reconfirm the Tour de France title on Sunday by finishing third in the 20th and penultimate stage, won by Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates).
To take the second win of this edition and the 11th of his career at the Tour, the youth leader and second overall won the sprint at the end of the 133.5 mountainous kilometers between Belfort and Le Markstein, beating Austria’s Felix Gall (AG2R Citroën) and yellow jersey, second and third in the run respectively, by the same 03:27.18 as the winner.
Vingegaard will be inaugurated on Sunday as two-time champion of the Tour de France, at the end of the 115.1 kilometers between Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and Paris, and climb to the podium again in the company of the Slovenian, vice for the second consecutive year, at 07.29 minutes, and Briton Adam Yates, also from UAE Emirates, who is third in the general classification with 10.56.
