The Serbs from Backa Topola are SC Braga’s opponents in the third qualifying round of the 2023/24 Football Champions League, for which Benfica and FC Porto are directly qualified.
Braga will play the first leg at home on August 8 or 9, and the second leg will be played on August 15 in Serbia.
In the draw that took place this Monday at the UEFA headquarters, Minho’s team that was placed on the path of the non-champions of the competition also had as possible opponents Sturm Graz (Austria) or the winner of one of the clashes of the second qualifying round, between Genk (Belgium) and Servette (Switzerland) and between Dnipro (Ukraine) and Panathinaikos (Greece).
The other pairings drawn are Rangers vs Servette/Genk, Dnipro/Panathinaikos vs Marseille and PSV vs Sturm Graz.
The third and penultimate preliminary round of the Champions League gives access to the last play-off of the group stage, for which Benfica, Portuguese champions, and FC Porto, runner-up, are classified.
