Bronny James, the eldest son of NBA star LeBron James, is in stable condition after going into cardiac arrest during practice with his college basketball team, the family revealed Tuesday. Bronny James, 18, stood on the field while training with his teammates at the University of Southern California on Monday in Los Angeles, US.
“Yesterday while training Bronny James went into cardiac arrest. Medical staff were able to treat him and take him to the hospital. Bronny is now stable and is no longer in ICU.
LeBron and his wife, Savannah James, publicly sent their “deepest thanks” to the university’s doctors for their “incredible work and dedication” to athlete safety.
According to celebrity news website TMZ, Bronny was unconscious before being taken to the hospital following the cardiac incident. The youngster committed to play for the University of Southern California in May after becoming one of the best high school basketball players in the US.
The father, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, four-time champion and four-time NBA MVP, has long spoken of his son’s desire to play on this team.
