Portuguese coach Carlos Carvalhal has left Al-Whada’s technical command, four months after signing for the UAE soccer club, a source close to the coach reported on Monday.
The day after the club achieved its first victory in the local championship, Carvalhal left the club in ninth position, with four points from four games, after a win, two losses and a draw.
The same source revealed that the reason for leaving is extra-sports issues.
Carvalhal, 56, joined the United Arab Emirates club this season, after two seasons at Sporting de Braga, having also played for Sporting, Marítimo, Vitória de Setúbal, Rio Ave, Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday, among others.
