Neemias Queta signs “standard contract” with the Sacramento Kings

Portuguese international center Neemias Queta signed a “standard contract” with the Sacramento Kings, maintaining a two-way contract, the North American Basketball League (NBA) team announced Wednesday.

Without disclosing any further details, the Kings only let it be known that Neemias Queta’s new contract is a “standard NBA contract” as opposed to the previous one, called a two-way contract, as it allows use in the development of League games (G -League) of the main basketball world championship.

The 24-year-old pole was selected by the Sacramento Kings in 39th position of the 2021 NBA draft after becoming the first Portuguese to play in the league despite playing most games on the secondary team, the Stockton Kings , had played in the G-League.

In his first two seasons in the NBA, Neemias Queta appeared in 20 games for the Sacramento team. The post was used most often by the Stockton Kings, for whom he played 43 games last season, averaging 17.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.9 tackles per game.

The good performance in the G-League earned the Portuguese player second place in the Most Valuable Player (MVP) voting of the regular phase of the competition, behind base Carlik Jones.
