The Belgian Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will undergo surgery, the Spanish club announced Thursday.
“After tests carried out on our player Thibaut Courtois, a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee was diagnosed. The player will undergo surgery in the next few days”, read a brief note published by the meringues on the official website.
Beginning his sixth season at the service of Real Madrid, the Belgian international goalkeeper trained at Genk and with spells at Atlético de Madrid and Chelsea was distinguished as goalkeeper of the year in 2018 and was part of the FIFA team of the year 2022.
