This Friday, Spain ensured its presence in the semifinals of the Women’s Soccer World Cup, by beating the Netherlands (2-1), in the competition that takes place in Australia and New Zealand.
It is the first time that the Spanish women’s team has reached the semifinals of a World Cup, and soon beat the runner-up, who was part of the Portugal group, already eliminated.
Victory in Wellington was secured after extra time, with a goal from 19-year-old Salma Paralluelo.
The Spanish team, one of the youngest in the competition, will now face Japan or Sweden on Tuesday.
