FC Porto travels to Moreira de Cónegos to kick off the I Liga. The dragons sponsor the return of Moreirense to the top flight of Portuguese football at the Estádio Comendador Joaquim de Almeida Freitas.
The blue and white players made their debut in the championship after the defeat against Benfica in the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira and they cannot count on Pepe, sent off in that match. The Moreira de Cónegos team returns to the I Liga after being champion of the Second Division. This season, Moreirense was knocked out of the League Cup by Farense, in a penalty shootout.
