Belgian international footballer Kevin De Bruyne has suffered a hamstring injury and could be out for Manchester City for three to four months, Citizens manager Pep Guardiola admitted on Tuesday.
“It’s a serious injury. We have to decide whether to opt for surgery, but he will be out for a few months. I don’t know for sure, but with surgery it will be three or four months,” admitted the coach of the European and English champions.
The Spanish coach spoke about De Bruyne’s injury, who on Friday was injured in the 23rd minute of his debut in the English League against Burnley (3-0), ahead of Wednesday’s game against Sevilla, in the Super Cup of Europe.
“It is a great loss for us. Kevin has some specific qualities. We can lose him one or two games, but for a long time he is very tough, ”added the coach, admitting that one of the options could be Phil Foden, in a squad that he considers good and in which he will look for solutions.
De Bruyne’s hamstring injury is recurring, after the Belgian had the same type of problem in the Champions League final against Inter Milan, which the English won 1-0, winning the first Champions League in their history.
