This Wednesday, FC Porto officially signed Alan Varela from Boca Juniors. The Argentine midfielder signs for the dragons until 2028.
“I am very happy to join a club as big as FC Porto and looking forward to meeting my new teammates and the club’s facilities… I feel very happy. The stadium is beautiful, I can’t wait to play here and I’m going to start working immediately to see if I deserve the trust of the Lord this weekend”, the player told the club’s official channels.

Alan Varela will play for FC Porto with the number 22 on his back and the player promises work:
“Signing for a great club like FC Porto motivates me a lot and I really want to wear this shirt. I promise to sacrifice myself for the team, I want to play as many games as possible and I’ll try to be 100”. % in all of them. Thanks to the fans for the welcome messages, I am very happy to be here and hopefully together we can achieve our goals”, he said.
Minutes before the announcement, the dragons used social networks to give a clue. In a video, several songs alluding to FC Porto are playing on a radio and, at the end, a song about Argentina, painted with the Porto symbol in the colors of the Albiceleste.

It is the first time that Alan Varela, 22, has left Boca Juniors and Argentina. With the former club, the midfielder played 111 games, scoring two goals and giving four assists.
