Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) found this Saturday “difficult to understand” the withdrawal from the sprint race of the Austrian Grand Prix, 10th race of the season, after being hit by Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati).
Oliveira was pushed off the track at the first corner in a race won by Italy’s Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who is moving ever closer to renewing the world title.

“From my perspective it’s hard to understand. I was hit from both sides, I almost fell and I couldn’t do more because I was trapped,” explained Miguel Oliveira, quoted by the RNF team’s press office.
Almada’s pilot also said the withdrawal was “unfortunate”.
“Today would be difficult because of the high temperatures. It would be necessary to control the pressure on the front wheel to be able to stop the bike. I would have liked to have had an idea of what we are going to do tomorrow. [domingo]but it was not possible,” complained Miguel Oliveira.
The Portuguese driver emphasizes that it will now be necessary to “give everything on track”.
Unlike other crashes this season, the Portuguese driver suffered no physical injuries today.
“I’m physically fine, there are no injuries and I’m ready to try again tomorrow.” concluded Miguel Oliveira.
The main race of the Austrian GP takes place on Sunday, 10th of the 20 races of the season.
