Miguel Oliveira starts from 10th place for the San Marino MotoGP GP

The Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (KTM) will start from 10th position for the San Marino MotoGP Grand Prix, the 14th race of the Speed Motorcycle World Championship.

The Almada driver, who managed to go directly to the second qualifying round by being one of the 10 fastest in free practice, finished 0.876 seconds from pole position, the Australian Jack Miller (Ducati).

Italy’s Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) was second fastest, with 0.015 seconds, but will start from fifth on the grid as a result of a penalty suffered on Friday for running slow in the middle of the track during free practice.

The transalpine Enea Bastianini (Ducati) was third, 0.115 behind Miller, but will have the Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati) at his side, in the front row, who gains position with Bagnaia’s suspension.

The session had a few drops of rain, especially at the start, but that didn’t stop the drivers from running with punctured tyres.

Miguel Oliveira even started as the fastest in the session and, at the start of the last five minutes, he was in the top six. But the last attempts of the pilots ended up allowing some rivals to climb in the classification.

The day has been positive for the Portuguese rider, who this morning had been seventh in the third free practice session, tenth in the three sessions.

In the fourth session, in which the drivers tested the race settings, Miguel Oliveira was 13th.

The San Marino GP is the 14th round of the MotoGP World Cup.

The French Fábio Quartararo (Yamaha) arrives as the leader of the championship, with 200 points, while the Portuguese rider is 10th, with 85.
