Footballer Carney Chukwuemeka, a 19-year-old midfielder, will miss Chelsea’s upcoming matches due to an injury to his left knee, the London club announced on its official website on Tuesday.
In a small note, Chelsea explained that Chukwuemeka was injured in last Sunday’s game against West Ham (3-1 defeat) for the English league and that he will undergo surgery in the coming days.
The ‘blues’ did not progress with the expected interruption of the young England international, but the local press reported that Chukwuemeka will be sidelined for at least six weeks.
The midfielder started the first two Premier League games and scored a goal precisely against West Ham, his first ever for the London emblem.
Chukwuemeka did his entire training at Aston Villa and joined Chelsea in 2022/23, a transfer that cost the ‘blues’ €18 million.
