The Spanish Football Federation calls an emergency meeting to discuss the sanction of Rubiales

The Royal Spanish Football Federation will meet urgently this Monday to discuss the suspension of President Luis Rubiales, decreed by FIFA.

In a statement quoted by the Reuters agency, the organization said that the meeting will serve to analyze and evaluate the suspension of Rubiales.

The meeting is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (in Lisbon), in Madrid.

FIFA suspended this Saturday, provisionally, the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, for having kissed Jenni Hermoso during the women’s soccer world title celebrations, and forbade him to maintain contact with the player.

“We have decided to suspend today [sábado] “Provisionally Luis Rubiales from all activities related to soccer, nationally and internationally,” announced the body that manages world soccer in a statement, adding that the suspension will have an initial duration of 90 days.

The suspension of all football-related activities takes effect immediately, and was decreed for an initial period of 90 days, pending the disciplinary file opened against the Spanish coach.

In a statement from the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Colombian Jorge Iván Palacio, FIFA also orders Luis Rubiales and other officials linked to the RFEF not to contact or attempt to contact soccer player Jenni Hermoso.
