This Friday, the Vlachodimos coach confirmed the departure of the Benfica goalkeeper and guarantees that the Greco-German leaves with the feeling of “duty accomplished and with titles”.
“With Benfica nothing goes wrong. He loves Benfica, he loves the Benfica fans, he loves the entire Benfica universe”, says Ulisses Santos.

Odysseas Vlachodimos arrived at Luz in 2018, from Panathinaikos: “Vlachodimos goes down in the history of Benfica as the foreign goalkeeper with the most appearances, in a total of 225, of which 55 of 56 last season, the title season. Goalkeeper who will go down in the history of Benfica and we will certainly miss him”.
The Greek international was a goalkeeper for practically five seasons, with an interregnum in 2020/2021, when he lost his position to Hélton Leite under Jorge Jesús.
This season, the goalkeeper started in the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira against FC Porto and in the first round of the I Liga against Boavista, but from then on he lost his place to Samuel Soares.
Odysseas Vlachodimos is now traveling to England to apparently represent Nottingham Forest.
