Tennis player Novak Djokovic defeated his Serbian compatriot Laslo Djere (38th in the world ranking) this Friday, qualifying for the round of 16 of the US Open.
World number two Djokovic overcame a two-set deficit against Djere to win the match 4-6, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1, 6-3.
The 36-year-old Serbian will face Croatian Borna Gojo (105th) on Sunday for a place in the quarterfinals.
Djokovic is seeking a fourth US Open title to equal Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 Grand Slam titles.
