FC Porto formalizes request to cancel the match with Arouca at the FPF

On Monday, FC Porto together with the Judicial Council of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) formalized the request for the annulment of the match against Arouca, the newspaper said. The game. At the basis of the request, FC Porto states, is the “misconduct of the arbitration”.

At the end of the match, FC Porto had already issued a new note, reporting the protest to the League delegate and requesting the cancellation of the match, which ended 1-1.

The protest at the Judicial Council takes place the day after the match and takes place within the specified time (according to the regulations, this must be done in a maximum of three days).

The dragons criticize the action of the referee of the match, Miguel Nogueira, as he overturned a penalty in FC Porto’s favor without seeing the footage, even though he was called by the VAR. Due to problems, presumably due to a lack of energy, communication was via mobile phone. This, the blue and white club argues, constitutes an “offense”.

This Monday, FC Porto released a statement denying the FPF Arbitration Board’s version, arguing that – contrary to what the Federation says – there was no power failure at the stadium.

However, the League has already announced that it has opened an investigation process into the reasons for the failure of the VAR system during the match.
