This Wednesday, Portugal continues to prepare for Friday’s duel against Slovakia, qualifying for Euro 2024, with a new training session at the Cidade do Futebol, in Oeiras, the last one on Portuguese soil before leaving for Bratislava.
The team led by Roberto Martínez has a session scheduled for 6:00 p.m., with the first 15 minutes being open to the media. Earlier, at 5:15 p.m., a player yet to be named will be present at a press conference, also at the Cidade do Futebol.
On Tuesday, the Spanish coach summoned the 24 players, including captain Cristiano Ronaldo and winger Pedro Neto, the new addition to Martínez’s schools.
This will be the last session of the Portuguese team at home, since on Thursday they travel to Slovakia and train in Bratislava, on the scene of the matchday five of Group J.
The Slovakia-Portugal match is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. local time (7:45 p.m. in Lisbon), at the National Stadium in Bratislava, and will be refereed by the Swedish Glenn Nyberg.
Three days later, on Monday, Portugal receives Luxembourg in the Algarve.
After four rounds, the team leads Group J, with 12 points, adding only victories, ahead of Slovakia, second ranked, with 10, and Luxembourg, third, with seven. Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iceland have three points, while Liechtenstein is down to zero.
The first two places in the group give direct access to the final phase of the Eurocup, which will take place next year in Germany.
