Sources from the Spanish Prosecutor’s Office, quoted by various media, affirmed today that Jenni Hermoso filed the complaint on Tuesday at the State Attorney General’s Office.
The Public Ministry had already presented Jenni Hermoso with the possibility of formally denouncing Rubiales for a crime of sexual assault, and only with a complaint from the player herself could the judicial authorities advance an accusation to the president of the federation.
Rubiales kissed Jenni Hermoso on the mouth on August 20 at the Sydney Stadium after Spain’s victory in the women’s soccer world cup.
The soccer player said that the kiss was not consented to, contrary to what the president of the federation affirms.
Earlier, on the stadium bench, Rubiales had touched his genitals to celebrate the Spanish victory.
