Portugal closed with 84 medals, 26 of them gold, the European SUDS championship for athletes with Down syndrome, held in Padua, Italy, which brought together eight modalities
Portugal, which was represented by 48 athletes, who competed in athletics, 4×4 basketball, indoor soccer, judo, swimming and table tennis, also achieved 38 silver and 20 bronze medals.
The SUDS (Sports Union for Athletes with Down Syndrome) European Championship competitions brought together 514 athletes from 21 countries, who competed in eight disciplines.
