The top four of the 2022/23 I Liga will be in separate groups, with two opponents, among the “survivors”, which include the also first divisionists Arouca, Casa Pia, Estoril Praia and Farense and AVS, Leixões, Nacional and Tondela. of the second level.
The draw for the group stage of the 17th edition of the League Cup is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., at the headquarters of the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP), in Porto.
The winners of each group will face each other in the “final four”, also scheduled in Leiria, with semi-finals on January 23 and 24 and final on the 27th.
Benfica has the record for victories in the competition, with seven, three more than Sporting, in a history that also includes Sporting de Braga, with two titles, Moreirense, Vitória de Setúbal and FC Porto, with one each one.
