The Portuguese under-21 football team took the lead in qualifying group G for the 2025 European Championship in this category on Tuesday, beating Belarus 5-0 in the second match in the group.
In the match played in Armavir, Armenia, as the Belarusians have been sanctioned by UEFA due to the war in Ukraine, the team scored from the corners through Fábio Silva, in the ninth and 34th minutes, the latter from a penalty, Henrique Araújo (26), João Marques (44) and Rodrigo Gomes (89).
