Basketball player Kevin Porter Jr., who plays for the Houston Rockets of the North American Basketball League (NBA), was arrested in New York for allegedly attacking his girlfriend, causing him to fracture his cervical vertebra, according to the investigation.
According to investigators, the 23-year-old young baseman allegedly attacked and attempted to strangle his girlfriend, fellow player Kysre Gondrezick, causing a fracture to the cervical vertebra and a cut to the eye.
Kevin Porter Jr., who denied the allegations, was eventually arrested in New York, with the investigation finding that the attacks continued until his girlfriend managed to escape from the hotel room where they were staying.
Porter Jr., selected 30th overall in the 2019 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, played in the NBA for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Houston Rockets and finished last season averaging 19.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists .
