Benfica won, on Sunday, for the seventh consecutive time, the Women’s Futsal Super Cup and reinforced its status as record holder of trophies, with eight, by beating Nun’Álvares 4-2, in a match played at the Municipal Pavilion of Castelo Branco.
The six-time national champions scored through goalkeeper Ana Catarina (six minutes) and Janice Silva (13, 31 and 36), while the Fafe team reduced through Ana Azevedo (17) and Taninha (40).
The Lisbon club thus won the eighth Women’s Futsal Super Cup in nine editions, after victories in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022, and in 2020 the trophy was not contested due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Novasemente won the other edition of the Super Cup, in 2015.
