This Tuesday, FC Porto beat Ukrainian Shakhtar Donetsk 4-1, playing at their borrowed home in Hamburg, for the first day of Group H of the UEFA Youth League, which the Dragons won in 2019.
The Porto team, led by Nuno Capucho, started the game strong and scored the first goal in the seventh minute, by Rodrigo Mora, a 16-year-old player, with a header after a free kick scored by Gonçalo Sousa.

Ussumane Djaló, in the 10th minute, and Jorge Meireles, in the 12th, were close to increasing the lead, while Shakhtar Donetsk reached for the first time, in the 20th minute, the goal defended by Diogo Fernandes by captain Oleh Pushkarov.

In the second half, after a dangerous situation created by Oleksandr Yuschenko and resolved by Diogo Fernandes, FC Porto increased the lead 4-0 thanks to Ussumane Djaló, in the 54th minute, with a strong shot in the area, after a corner by Jorge Meireles.

In added time, at minute 90+3, Shakhtar Donetsk reduced the score to 4-1, thanks to Oleh Pushkarov, after an assist from Victor Tsukanov, in the face of some passivity from the Porto defense.
FC Porto is the leader of Group H, with three points, while Shakhtar Donetsk is fourth and last, without points. The opening day concludes today with the match between FC Barcelona and Antwerp.
On the second day of the Youth League, on October 4, FC Porto will host FC Barcelona, champion in the 2013/14 and 2017/18 seasons.
