Fernando Gomes hospitalized after suffering a heart attack

Fernando Gomes, a former FC Porto footballer, is admitted to a hospital in the city of Porto after having suffered a heart attack.

The former striker who made history at FC Porto and also played for Sporting is 65 years old and has been fighting pancreatic cancer for three years. He is currently a member of the Blue and Whites board.

For the Dragons, Fernando Gomes scored 355 goals in 452 games. In the 13 Blue and White seasons, the former Portuguese striker won the Golden Boot twice. At Sporting, the ‘bibota’ scored 38 goals in 79 games.

Fernando Gomes was a Portuguese international on 47 occasions, scoring 11 goals.
