Coach Vasco Seabra will lead Estoril Praia until the end of the season, replacing Álvaro Pacheco, who left by mutual agreement the club that competes in the Portuguese Football League, he announced this Monday.
Through a publication on its official channels, Estoril Praia reported on the arrival of Vasco Seabra, whose initial objective will be to remove the Canarinhos from the current 17th and penultimate position in the I Liga and direct the team towards maintaining the championship.
“Welcome, Mr. Vasco Seabra,” reads the text issued by the Cascais Line, which included the first statements about its new coach on its official website.
The 40-year-old coach, who had been without a club since leaving Marítimo at the beginning of last season, declared he was “very happy.”
“With joy and a sense of responsibility we assume a club with an identity that speaks volumes to me. I guarantee that we will all do the best we can so that success is achieved collectively, with the dedication and enthusiasm that El Mago has.” brings us,” promised Vasco Seabra.
The coach, who returned to the Amoreira shield about four years ago after having spent his first stage in charge of the ‘Canarinhos’ under-23 team, also took the opportunity to leave “a few words to the fans.”
“We count on your continued support as we work, to be able to contribute to the greatness of the club,” added the newly arrived coach, who signed a contract valid until June 2024, which also includes an option to renew for one more year.
The day before, Álvaro Pacheco had been dismissed from the position of coach of Estoril Praia, which he had held since July, after drawing at home with Vizela (2-2), in the I Football League, and having recorded the fourth consecutive match without winning in the championship, in which the Amoreira club has only one victory.
Vasco Seabra’s debut is scheduled for this Wednesday, when Estoril Praia visits Leixões, in Matosinhos, on the first day of the group stage of the League Cup. Four days later, the ‘canarinhos’ will travel again, this time to the fiefdom of Vitória de Guimarães, on the seventh day of the I Liga.
Before his time at Marítimo, which lasted just over a season, the coach coached Paços de Ferreira, Boavista and Moreirense, in the top category of Portuguese football.
