This Saturday, Sporting can isolate itself at the top of the Portuguese Football League, if it triumphs at Farense, in a match on the seventh day, while Boavista could reach third place along with FC Porto.
A day after Benfica’s victory over FC Porto (1-0), Sporting can take advantage of being alone at the top of the standings, visiting Farense, in 11th position.
After the result of Friday’s classic, Sporting occupies second position, with 16 points, two behind Benfica and the same as FC Porto.
Who can also benefit from the defeat of the ‘dragons’ is Boavista, who, if they beat Famalicão, could join their neighbors Invicta in third place.
In sixth place, one place below and with two points less than the ‘checkered’ team, the Famalicenses can enter qualifying places for European competitions.
In the first match of the day, Vizela, 13th, and Portimonense, 15th, both with five points, are looking for points to move away from the relegation spots.
