The counteranalysis carried out after French international Paul Pogba failed an anti-doping test confirmed the presence of high levels of testosterone in the Juventus player’s body.
The information is provided by a source close to the case not identified by Agence France-Presse (AFP). The 2018 French world champion could face a ban of between two and four years. The first test detected the presence of testosterone metabolites.
Paul Pogba, 30, left Manchester United this season to return to Juventus. The anti-doping control in which he tested positive was carried out at the end of the first round match of the Italian League, between Juventus and Udinese. The midfielder was a substitute and was not used, but he was one of those chosen to be tested.
On September 11, when the result of the test was made public, the Italian Anti-Doping Agency (Nado) decided to provisionally suspend the athlete.
