Portugal achieved its first victory in a Rugby World Cup, beating Fiji 24-23, who still qualified, like Argentina.
In the last match of Group C of the 2023 Rugby World Cup, Portugal managed to make history and triumphed over Fiji, in a match that was always balanced and decided in the final minutes, with a try by Rodrigo Marta converted by Samuel Marques.
Despite the defeat, Fiji manages to retain second place in the group and advance to the quarterfinals, like Wales, the leader, leaving out Australia, while Portugal rises to fourth place in the group, in exchange for Georgia.
