The Saudi Football Federation (SAFF) sent a letter of intent and a signed statement to FIFA on Monday to apply to host the 2034 World Cup.
The sending of this documentation, signed by Yasser Al Misehal, President of SAFF, is an official confirmation of the announcement made last Wednesday and of the country’s commitment to access the candidacy process established by FIFA.
SAFF, through an official statement, believes that this project “reflects the country’s objectives to unlock new opportunities in football at all levels and its commitment to supporting the growth of the beautiful game in all corners of the planet” .
“Inspired by Saudi Arabia’s social and economic transformation under Vision 2030, and by the country’s long-standing love for the beautiful game, Saudi Arabia’s 2034 bid aims to welcome the world and promises an exciting and memorable event for the fans,” he added. the same note.
For the President of the Saudi Federation, Yasser Al Misehal, the organization of Mundial2034 is the country’s invitation to the world to “witness the development of Saudi Arabia, experience its culture and be part of its history ”, while at the same time committing to “make it the most competitive candidacy possible, which will contribute to uniting the world through football”.
In its announcement, the SAFF recalled that as soon as it announced its intention, more than seventy FIFA associations from around the world had publicly pledged their support, in addition to holding numerous international sporting events, both in the women’s and men’s categories in Saudi Arabia.
