South Africa defeated hosts France 29-28 this Sunday in the final meeting of the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals, which took place at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis. The South Africans, three-time world champions (1995, 2007 and 2019), will meet England in one of the semi-finals, scheduled for next Saturday, at the same location.
The English also defeated the Fiji Islands – who lost to Portugal in the final match of the group stage – 30-24 this Sunday, maintaining their hopes of winning the second title in their history after celebrating in 2003 .
In the other World Cup semi-final, which will also take place in Saint-Denis, New Zealand (world champions in 1987, 2011 and 2015) will take on Argentina, who will battle to reach the first final in their history.
The final of the tournament will take place on October 28.
