Illegal betting is worth a seven-month suspension and at least six months of therapy for Fagioli

The five months in which he will not serve his sentence are replaced by public appearances and other community work, in addition to a “therapeutic plan of at least six months duration” that he must comply with.

Fagioli was the first name to emerge in a scandal surrounding illegal betting that also has Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali under investigation, whose agent has already admitted he suffers from a gambling addiction.

Zaniolo, from Aston Villa, is also under the jurisdiction of sports justice, after being removed from the Italian national team concentration due to this situation, which also happened to Tonali.

Fagioli admitted to having bet on football matches, without participating in them, which is prohibited, to having collaborated and admitted to having a gambling addiction, now missing the entire season at Juventus.
