The two teams already met in the quarterfinals of the competition in the 1994/95 season.with Sporting beating Olivais and Moscavide, 6-1, and advancing to win the final against Marítimo, 2-0.
Also today, Leixões, from the II League, receives Vitória de Setúbalof the Portuguese Championship, in a duel between two teams that already won the competition, but are now out of the main ‘stages’ of national football.
Another team that has already won the Portuguese Cup is Estela da Amadora, from the I Liga, which will visit Vila Meãof the Portuguese Championship, on a day in which 11 third round matches are played.
In addition to Sporting and Estrela da Amadora, the first division Moreirense, Vizela, Casa Pia and Arouca also debut today in the competitionwith visits to Paredes, Atlético, Rabo de Peixe and Felgueiras, respectively.
