The former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Luis Rubiales announced this Monday that he will appeal the decision of FIFA that suspends him from all activities related to football for a period of three years.

Today, the FIFA Disciplinary Commission announced the three-year suspension of the former RFEF president, stating that he “violated article 13 of the disciplinary code” by kissing the player without consent and touching his own genitals to celebrate the Spanish victory.
FIFA indicated that Rubiales had already been notified and could appeal to the Appeal Committee.
The final of the Women’s World Cup, played on August 20, was marked by the kiss on the mouth that the then president of the RFEF gave to the player Jenni Hermoso, during the victory celebrations at the Sydney stadium, and that forward has reiterated that he had not been consented.
Rubiales’ behavior earned him the opening of a disciplinary file by the Sports Administrative Court of Spain and FIFA, which suspended him from his position for 90 days.
The player, in turn, filed a complaint with the courts for sexual assault by Rubiales, who initially refused to resign from the RFEF, but ended up doing so on September 10.
