The English sports magazine “FourFourTwo” published a list of the 50 best coaches in the world.a list headed by the Spanish pep guardiolaManchester City coach. Jurgen Kloppof Liverpool, and carlo ancelotiof Real Madrid, completes the podium.
In this list of 50 coaches there is room for four Portuguese: Sergio Conceicaoof FC Porto, occupies 37th position, Ruben Amorimfrom Sporting, appears in 27th place, Jose Mourinhofrom Rome, on the 15th, and Abel Ferreira in 14th place.
Roger SchmidtBenfica coach, is also on the list, in 33rd place.
Abel Ferreira is, therefore, the best Portuguese on this list, behind Luis Enrique of Paris Saint-Germain, but ahead of José Mourinho. The English magazine affirms that the Palmeiras coach “has transformed Brazilian football since his arrival in 2020” and “he quickly became the foreign coach with the most trophies in the country.”
Rúben Amorim is the first Portuguese League coach to appear on the list. “Whatever vacancy there is in the Premier League, Amorim’s name is always associated with it and it’s easy to understand why,” writes the magazine.
Sérgio Conceição, who appears in position 37, is highlighted by the magazine work he has been doing at FC Porto since 2017.
