About 300 fans from Antwerp caused disturbances in the center of Porto this Monday night, before the Champions League match that will be played this Tuesday at the home of FC Porto, according to a source informed Lusa PSP.
A source from the PSP’s Porto Metropolitan Command said authorities are monitoring the situation to find out what happened.
The disturbances occurred in the riverside area, where the Belgian club’s fans, around 300, were concentrated, according to the same source.
So far, the PSP has not said what damage was caused or whether any arrests were made.
The Metropolitan Command of the PSP of Porto also stated that it has the device in situ to monitor the Belgian fans, a situation that will continue throughout the night and until the fourth day of the Champions League.
The blue and whites face Antwerp this Tuesday, starting at 8 p.m., at the Estádio do Dragão, in Porto, for the fourth matchday of Group H of the Champions League, a few hours after the duel between Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Barcelona, in Hamburg.
Winner of the competition in 1986/87 and 2003/04, FC Porto occupies second place in the group, with six points, compared to nine for the Spanish, who maintain an isolated lead, while the Ukrainians occupy third place , with three, and Antwerp is last, without points.
