The team, made up of Alexandra García, Diana Gago, Sara Guido and Rita Abrantes, achieved a total of 10 points in the three jumps performed, which guaranteed the silver medal, behind Great Britain, which scored 14 and won the world title . while Canada was third, with the same 10 as Portugal.
In the men’s team final of the same device, Portugal finished in fourth position, with seven points, behind the United States of America, first with 12, Spain, second with 11, and Great Britain, third with nine.
Diogo Romão, José Rafael Domingues, Diogo Cabral and Diogo Fernandes were close to the podium, but could not repeat the feat of 2022, in which the Portuguese team took silver.
In the men’s team tumbling final, Portugal finished in fifth place, in a race won by Azerbaijan, with Great Britain in second place and Denmark lowest on the podium.
Gonçalo Nunes, João Saraiva, Vasco Peso and Diogo Gomes were the athletes who represented Portugal.
Although the teams had four members, only three competed in the finals for each team.
The World Trampoline Championships will run until Sunday in Birmingham, England, with Portugal represented by 24 athletes in the trampoline, double mini-trampoline and tumbling events.
