The Public Security Police (PSP) arrested nine Marseille supporters this Wednesday in the operation related to the Champions League football match against Sporting, in Alvalade.
It concerned “an incident that took place at a petrol station on the A1”, in which the PSP got on a bus and identified “about 50 people”.
“This action resulted in nine detainees, aged between 22 and 41, on suspicion of committing crimes of aggravated harm, threat and coercion, possession of narcotics and pyrotechnic devices”the authorities have stated.
The PSP also seized five-bladed weapons, hashish and liamba, as well as pyrotechnic items.
Likewise, the bus the French fans were traveling in was also seized for “violations of the Roads Act”.
The detainees will be present at the judiciary on Thursday, 2 in the Lisbon district and 7 in the Santarém district.
Two minutes before the end of the game, Sporting lost 2-0 to the French team.
