Europa League: Sp. Braga draws to three goals in Belgium and makes direct qualification difficult

Sporting de Braga drew 3-3 at the home of Belgium’s Union Saint-Gilloise this Thursday in a Europa League Group D match, complicating the accounts of direct qualification to the round of 16.

The Arsenalista team had the advantage twice, one of them by two goals, but always allowed the Belgians to recover, losing two important points in the battle for first place.

Vitinha was Braga’s hero, scoring three of his team’s goals in the 15th, 36th and 41st minutes, the latter ensuring the 3-1 that brought them to half-time, but two goals from Boniface (20 and 62) and one de Vanzeir (49) prevented Braga from winning the three points.

With this draw, Braga’s team remains in second place in the group, now with seven points, three less than the Belgian team, which leads, with the Germans Union Berlin in third place, with three points, and the Swedes do Malmö in the final one, still no points, teams to face each other next Thursday.
