The president of FC Porto, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, stated this Tuesday that the objective of the management is for SAD del Porto to present positive accounts and positive assets in December.
“The assets and negative accounts that were presented were calculated in such a way that in December the accounts would be positive and the assets, if not positive, would be close to that,” said the Porto leader in an interview with the SIC.
The president of the Dragons guarantees that Porto’s objectives are also sporting and criticizes Benfica: “Others sold players, received money and how many points do they have in the Champions League? It is not worth counting them, because they are zero.”
Pinto da Costa reveals that several investments are emerging in the club that will yield money in the future, giving the example of the agreement signed with a North American company “that will carry out interventions in the Estádio do Dragão” and that also paid the club and will withdraw dividends from the exploration of spaces within the stadium. The name of the venue was omitted, which, according to the president of FC Porto, will be worth between five and six million euros for the dragons.
Asked if investors are expected to enter FC Porto’s SAD, Pinto da Costa is categorical: “At the moment, no (…) I have already guaranteed that FC Porto will never lose the majority of the SAD.”
Pinto da Costa refused to confirm whether or not he will be a candidate in the Porto elections scheduled for April, but he made a promise beforehand: “The objective is to present positive accounts and positive assets in December.”
One of the possible candidates for the FC Porto elections is André Villas-Boas, former coach of the Dragons, and Pinto da Costa describes the relationship between them: “Since he left FC Porto, I have spoken to him three times… “
