Miguel Oliveira’s team without a contract for the 2024 MotoGP season

The RNF team, in which Portuguese Miguel Oliveira rode, does not have a contract to race in the 2024 MotoGP season, the organizations responsible for the competition announced on Monday.

“The MotoGP Selection Committee, which includes members of the FIM [Federação Internacional de Motociclismo]from IRTA [associação de equipas] and Dorna [organizador]decided not to select the CryptoDATA RNF team for the 2024 season”said a statement from MotoGP.

In the same document, the decision is justified by “repeated violations and breaches of the participation agreement, which tarnish the public image of MotoGP”.

As DN has already announced, the Portuguese rider will have a new boss, new director and new motorcycle before 2024.

“The Selection Committee will assess applications for a new, independent team, using Aprilia engines, to join the MotoGP grid in 2024”says the organization.

Miguel Oliveira moved to Aprilia’s satellite team this season after racing for KTM in his first four seasons in MotoGP, and, like Spaniard Raul Fernandez, has a direct contract with the Italian manufacturer until 2024.

The Portuguese finished the championship in 16th place, with 76 points, in a season that saw several incidents and injuries that kept him out of some races, after even missing the final Grand Prix in Valencia on Sunday.
