The Portuguese women’s team lost this Tuesday 1-0 against France and therefore could not remain in League A of the Nations League football, in a match played in Leiria.
In a match in which they needed to win to keep their aspirations of permanence intact, in addition to benefiting from Austria’s victory over Norway, which was achieved, the Portuguese team did not know how to convert the numerous opportunities created throughout the match into goals, in a match in which the opposing team ended up scoring in the 90+3 minute, through Geyoro.
With this result, Portugal closed Group 2 in fourth and last positionwith three points, they were relegated to League B, in a ‘poule’ won by France, with 16 points, having Austria took second placewith 10, and Norway in third placewith five.
