Get to know the Salzburg and Benfica squads for the Champions League

Benfica travels this Tuesday to Salzburg, Austria, on the last day of the group stage of the Champions League. With no chance of advancing in the competition, the Águilas have the last chance to continue in European competitions. To do this, the team led by Roger Schmidt needs to beat the Austrian champion by at least two goals and thus qualify for the round of 16 of the Europa League.

The Portuguese team arrives at the last match of the current Champions League model with only one point in group D, achieved in the previous round with a draw at home against Inter Milan, while Salzburg also tied on the same day, but against Real Sociedad, headfirst. They arrive at this Tuesday’s challenge with three more points than the Eagles. To surpass the Austrians, Benfica must win by at least two goals, tying on points and head-to-head, but gaining an advantage in goal difference.

Salzburg XI: Sclager, Piatkowski, Baidoo, Sucic, Bidstrup, Ratjov, Gourna-Douath, Gloukh, Pavlovic, Nene and Dedic.

Benfica’s eleven: Trubin, Aursnes, Otamendi, Tomás Araújo, Morato, João Neves, Kökçü, Di María, João Mário, Rafa and Tengstedt.

Salzburg substitutes: Mantl, Krumrey, Okoh, Kameri, Fernando, Diambou, Ulmer, Konaté, Koita, Simic, Forson and Morgalla.

Benfica substitutes: Samuel Soares, Kokubo, Arthur Cabral, Jurásek, Gonçalo Guedes, Chiquinho, Musa, João Victor, Tiago Gouveia and Florentino.
