FC Porto begins this Sunday the defense of the Portuguese Cup won in the 2021/22 season, with the ‘dragons’ ‘closing’ the third round, visiting Anadia, the Liga 3 football team.
The ‘dragons’ enter the field at 8:45 p.m., with the status of champions from the last edition, in which they defeated Tondela (3-1), a team already in the II League that beat Santa on Saturday Clara, from the I League, 2-0.

Porto’s coach, Sérgio Conceição, warned of the necessary humility, stating that FC Porto “cannot stop being” the team that it is, otherwise there is a risk that the Cup will ‘happen’, the expression given to the Underdog wins.
This will be the second meeting between FC Porto and Anadia, 50 years after the two teams also met in 1972 in a Portuguese Cup tie, with an 8-0 thrashing of the ‘dragões’ at the old Estádio das Antas .
The FC Porto match begins practically after Sporting’s visit to Varzim, at 7:00 p.m.
For Sporting, it will be game number 49 against Varzim, a team they have already played in the I League, the Portuguese Cup and the League Cup, with 32 wins, 11 draws and five losses, being the last game in the last season.
Then, on matchday four, at the Estádio José Alvalade, Rúben Amorim’s team won 2-1, with Pedro Gonçalves ‘bis’, while Heliardo scored for Varzim, a player who is no longer in Póvoa.
The ‘lions’ arrive at the Cup match after a difficult week, in which they lost again to Marseille in the ‘Champions’ (2-0), this time in Alvalade, and were again outnumbered, after the expulsions Esgaio and Pedro Goncalves.
Still in the third matchday of the Cup, the first in which the teams from the highest category enter and with the regulation determination to play away, Sporting de Braga will also visit FC Felgueiras 1932, also from League 3.
On Saturday, Benfica battled back to defeat Caldas, only managing to beat their third division rival, on penalties, 5-3, after a 1-1 draw in regulation time and extra time.
