Sporting won the men’s handball Super Cup this Sunday ten years after lifting the trophy for the last time, in beat Benfica, 38-34in the final played in Santo Tirso.
The ‘lions’, who were already at half-time with an 18-17 lead, prevented Benfica from retaining the title and equaling the winning record of FC Porto, which had won the competition eight times.
This is the fourth Super Cup in the history of Sportingwho had not lifted the trophy since the 2012/13 season.
