Boavista players return to strike over non-payment of salaries

Boavista players went on strike again. This Thursday’s training was scheduled for 10 a.m. and it was cancelled. This comes after the players met on Wednesday with president Vítor Murta, who did not provide wage payment guarantees in delay.

Boavista, Leixões and Länk Vilaverdense were notified by the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) so that, within a period of 15 days, they can demonstrate salary compliance in the last three months, the organization announced.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the LPFP states that “31 Sports Societies – two of which have B teams – have complied with the obligation to demonstrate, before December 15, the no salary debt for the months of September, October and November”.

According to competition regulations, the three missing companies now have 15 days to demonstrate the absence of salary debts.

Last September, The Bessa club and the Länk Vilaverdense (II League) They had already failed in their obligation demonstrate the non-existence of debts of the same type, corresponding to the months of May, June, July and August.

Subsequently, the two clubs verified that there were no debts with players and coaches and the situation was regularized.
