“I am very happy that they have confidence in me. Words are difficult because I am very happy,” said Geny Catamo, who has been used by the Sporting coach as a winger or right back.
The ‘Lions’ player was also called up this Friday for the African Football Cup of Nations (CAN2023), to be played in Ivory Coast between January 13 and February 11, by Mozambican coach Chiquinho Conde.
After signing the new contract with Sporting, in a season in which he already scored two goals in the 18 games he played in, he took responsibility: “I am very proud. I have continued to grow with my colleagues and now I have to be focused on what I need [Rúben Amorim] question, to also remain happy.”
According to the sports press, Amora, currently in League 3, owned 75% of the economic rights of the Mozambican player, who had a contract with Sporting until the end of the 2024/25 season and a clause of 45 ME.
