Fran Navarro will represent Olympiakos, coached by Portuguese Carlos Carvalhal, on loan from FC Porto, with an option to buy at the end of the season, the Greek football league club announced today. The amounts involved in the deal were not specified by the title record holder and current third-place finisher in the league, which was led by Portuguese coach and midfielder João Carvalho on December 5 and has striker Daniel Podence in its squad.
Fran Navarro leaves an irregular adjustment at FC Porto, for which he scored one goal in 10 games in the first half of 2023/24, having played 279 minutes.
The all-time top scorer of the Barcelos team in the top flight, who was hired from Gil Vicente in July for a fee of almost seven million euros, had signed a five-year contract with the blue and white until June 2028.
Fran Navarro shared with João Mário, of national champions Benfica, the third and final place on the podium of the competition’s top scorers in 2022-2023, scoring 17 goals, improving the record of 16 goals in the first season in Portugal . for a total of 66 games.
Born on the outskirts of Valencia, the 25-year-old attacker graduated from the Che club (2015-2021), but never played for the main team and was loaned to Belgian side Lokeren (2019-20), before becoming one of the the highest sales in Gil Vicente’s history.
FC Porto made its second exit at the reopening of the transfer window, after the transfer of winger Gabriel Veron to Cruzeiro, from the Brazilian Championship.
